I say sauce… its actually Hell in a jar. Hotter than Satan’s scrotum but less salty, I’d imagine.
How hot? This stuff is used in one of the infamous Chilli Eating Challenges at the 2021 Cheese & Chilli Festivals. Many have tried, few have conquered, lots have been hurt. It’s a LIMITED EDITION sauce, made specifically for this year’s events. So what’s in it?
17% Carolina Reaper. That’s what… PLUS 9% Scotch Bonnet, and some other, less… paramedic-reliant… stuff. (tomato, onion, vinegar, sugar, ginger, lime, salt, paprika, garlic, arrowroot and chilli extract).
I’m told that if you can take the circa 2.2m Scovilles this sauce offers, that the underlying flavours are actually a really great flavourful combination, nothing less than you’d expect from the expert makers.
